I used to not understand why ppl drive so slowly but now I think I understand them better because I’m one of them… I used to… hmmm well let’s just say that, in shorts, whether I’m heading out or I’m heading home, I’m alone either way; so I stopped rushing through life for no particular reason. I just cruise as my head gets lost in the music.

I went to Safeway to buy some soda for my mom today and like always, the cashier gave me a hard time.

I loaded 20 packs of Coke into my shopping cart and entered a line to pay for them. I put 1 pack on the rolling table and announced “I have 20 in the cart” to keep the hispanic cashier inform. She smiled and gave me my total 2 minutes later. I paid and took off to my car to unload the soda.

As soon as I was done with that, I returned to the same store to buy 20 more. When I reached the same line, I noticed that they changed shift and a black cashier was working the machine. I went on to load 3 packs of different soda on the rolling table. As I was about to tell her the number of packs for each kind, with an attitude, she said, “I don’t care how many you have, load them all up the table.” Then she went on to continue her conversation with another customer.

I unloaded the soda, left the empty line and lined up at the next one.

The cashier in this line was also black. But I was hopeful anyway.
As I loaded 3 packs up, I noticed the previous black cashier that gave me a hard time entered my line and whispered something to my current cashier then left.

When it was my turn, the cashier asked me “I was told that you left the other line, can you tell me why?”

I smiled and explained myself:

“I’ve done this before and I have never been asked to load all the soda up. I didn’t feel like doing it when the other cashier asked me to so I left. I’m not sure if it’s store policy and if it is, I’ll load the soda onto the rolling table but I would need to speak to your manager as well. There’s obviously a flaw in the managing system if your customer service isn’t consistent. So what would you like me to do?”

Her response was: “This will do, I’m sorry. How many of each do you have?”

Due to the nature of our work schedule, I normally leave for work or school before Kevin even wakes up. The only meal that we can squeeze in every day is lunch because Kevin doesn’t get home until 11pm every work night. Despite of our crazy schedule, we managed to spend every night together since November 3rd, 2011.

We celebrated our 100th day of living together this past 2/16 & tomorrow is our 200th day of living together.

I guess here’s an example of how we make it work.

Last night, after having dinner at one in the morning, Kevin left for the living room to play Diablo 3 while I showered. I went to the kitchen afterwards to grab a drink and said to Kevin “I don’t mind you playing but I wish you could play from our bedroom so I can look over you.”

I honestly wanted us to spend more time next to each other but I never expected him to act upon it. Kevin left the computer unattended and headed back to the bedroom after my comment. I didn’t even notice what he was doing until he asked for my opinion about a computer desk. To my surprise, he’s been browsing for the perfect desk to purchase so that he can set up his new desktop in the bedroom.

This morning he told me that the desk he ordered will arrive in a week & I couldn’t be happier.

This is just one of a million other things that Kevin does to make me happy. Finally, I’m with someone who’s willing to meet me half way.

4:28am- Even with my eyes shut, I’m still haunted by the thoughts of what I was doing on the computer before I decided to call it a night, which was roughly an hour ago. As exhausted as I am, I find myself wondering why aren’t I asleep yet while my thoughts scattered from the past to present… Suddenly, a random idea dominates my thoughts as I realize what kind of life story I’d like to tell my employer one day. Lemme assure you that this isn’t just another random thought of the night —-or day, uh whatever, who cares, I certainly don’t want to be caught awake at this ungodly hour. Anyway, I need to compose a life story that’d showcase my personality for an assignment and I have been asking myself all day, not once, not twice, but at least 1000 times whether I should b/s the story or truly write it from the heart. Well, let’s see…

I fucking hate Sprint. I miss my Tmobile 4G data plan. Sprint is such a scam! Their 3G/4G is fucked up no matter where I go. I know more crap about cell phones than their dumbfuck technicians ugh get me off this hellish cell phone plan. FML
